This mosaic project was in a junior school in Warwickshire, which had sadly recently lost one of it's pupils, aged just six, to leukaemia. The boy's classmates came up with the designs around the edge after talking about their memories of their friend, and the boy's older brother, also a pupil at the school, helped to design and make the sunshine motif on the top.

Everyone contributed; his grieving parents, his teachers, his friends and their parents and just anyone who felt moved to join in. It was a project that really pulled the grieving community together to celebrate the boy's life. It was extremely moving and a privilege to be asked to do this.

The mosaic formed the centrepiece for the 'friendship garden' that the school community had built so that anyone can go and sit in the peaceful place to remember their friend.
